O1 Properties will support the Earth Hour action

March 4, 2015. The investment company O1 Properties for the fourth time will take part in the Earth Hour action. The outdoor lighting of the company’s office centres will be switched off for one hour on March 28. The action starts at 8:30 pm Moscow time.

Alexander Ostrovsky, CEO of O1 Properties: “As the owner of the well-known office buildings featuring bright architectural lighting, O1 Properties cannot stay out of such large-scale action as the Earth Hour. Participating in this event, we’d like to make our own contribution to decreasing the harmful impact of the urban environment on nature and draw the public’s attention to environmental issues.”

The Earth Hour is the initiative of the World Wildlife Fund, calling people to turn off the lights and some other vital electric appliances. This action, lasting one hour and held on the last Saturday of March, aims at drawing everybody’s attention to the climate change. The Earth Hour is annually supported by government and municipal establishments, companies and people all over the world, lights also being switched off on historic and architectural memorial buildings. About 2 billion people from 160 countries participated in the action last year. In Russia the Earth Hour 2014 was backed by nearly 20 million people from 120 cities.
