Bolshevik business and cultural centre enters Russia’s Green Office rating

December 22, 2016. Investment company O1 Properties announced that its Bolshevik cultural and business center has entered Russia’s Green Offices rating for 2016 with a high score of two stars. The rating is organized by the GREENS ecology bureau in partnership with the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management and the Russian Association of Managers.

Over 50 companies took part in the rating this year, providing information on environmental aspects of their offices, from energy conservation and responsible purchasing to measurement of carbon footprint and environmental training for employees. The information was verified by GREENS experts. The key criteria were environmental training of employees and environmentally responsible purchasing policy.

The Bolshevik cultural and business center was created by renovation of the former Bolshevik confectionery factory on Leningradsky avenue in Moscow. The renovation and adaptation of the territory for modern use included complete replacement of all engineering systems and the installation of technology, which minimizes impact on the the environment. Features of the center that prioritize the environment include an on-site gas boiler, which is highly unusual for Moscow commercial real estate and eliminates the heat losses and warming of soil areas caused by a system of underground heat pipes. Plans for Bolshevik in the near future include certification to BREEAM standards.
